April 4, 5-7pm

  • Mixed Media artist Candy Barnes: Candy is a mostly self-taught mixed media artist. She enjoys using upcycled paper, paint and ephemera to create small works of art. To recognize Earth Day, Candy will be demonstrating her process for using mixed media to design and make small upcycled art on playing cards, tags and paint color samples. She’d love to answer your questions and hopefully spark your interest in creating your own upcycled art!sic and opportunities to perform it!
  • Fundraiser: 10% of of the entire day’s sales will benefit Sharing Our Surplus (SOS), a committee of the Virginia Mennonite Relief Sale, which supports the international relief work of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). SOS funds are designed toward refugee relief and this year SOS’s funds will be divided between Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, four countries where MCC is easing the suffering of refugees. Volunteer

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Gift & Thrift and Booksavers of Virginia. Volunteers help us prepare donations for sale, make minor repairs to furniture, stock our sales floor, cashier, and list items online. Volunteers help drive our success and bring their own energy and creativity to our operation.
